Who Needs the OnAlert™ System?
OnAlert™ Saves Ice Cream
The applications for the OnAlert™ system are endless. Small business can use them to keep their doors open for business during a power outage. Standby power is something small business owners consider. But they change their mind because adding generator maintenance to their “to-do” list is just one more thing. Furthermore, the fuel, the emissions and the noise really make a generator an unattractive solution. Or, their building footprint in the stripmall just won’t allow it.
That’s what Joe’s Ice Cream Emporium discovered. They thought about standby power but knew the lot size wouldn’t accommodate a generator. But then their electrical contractor suggested the OnAlert™. It fit neatly and nicely in their back store room. Easy.
Fast forward to this summer. It’s a hot summer day in their small tourist town. It’s the Fourth of July weekend and Joe is primed for plenty of traffic. And then it happened. The lights went out…in the clothing store next door! Joe’s Ice Cream Emporium kept right on scooping. The line was 20 deep because people thought it better to get some cool ice cream rather than shop in an uncomfortably warm and dark clothing boutique. Instead of losing customers, Joe gained them and saved thousands of dollars in ice cream inventory.
OnAlert™ keeps local coffee shop the hottest spot in town
The Hot Spot Coffee Shop stands by their motto; "Always fresh, always on, always open. In the construction of their revamped space in the trendy uptown area of the city, the electrical contractor suggested a standby generator to make sure that The Hot Spot always stayed open in case of an outage. The owner liked the idea but the lot certainly didn’t have any room for a generator and frankly didn’t want to deal with the refueling and maintenance so he declined. The electrical contractor told him about how the OnAlert™ was quiet, fuel-free and would fit in his mechanical room. "Sold.”
Sure enough it hit. The ice storm they always get a couple times a year. Power lines were down, the neighborhood was without power. But not The Hot Spot Coffee Shop. It was a welcomed site for those who had to venture out. In the following weeks, all his customers talked about is how he stayed open so they could get their coffee. Who knew? He did!
